In one form or another I have always been drawn to plants and would find myself seeking comfort in nature, not fully understanding at the time our interconnectedness. I attribute my California roots, duirng a time when words like health, nutrition and consciousness were not mainstream, for exposing me to healthier options in food and cosmetics. In my quest for health and happiness I have explored many paths, all leading me to where I am today. By growing my own food, I learned how replenishing and mineralizing the soil organicly is so necessary. Utilizing healing modalities such as Reiki, Soma, acupunture, hypnotherapy and massage for my own health conerns, I can now attest to how beneficial and powerful these methods are. As I have searched for meaning and understanding I have finally come to embrace spirituality and the importance of meditation so that we may tap into our inner voice and guidance. Having spent 20 + years in advertising as a Photo Stylist and Producer, the pace and my desire for something that resonated more with my beliefs and soul, led to pursue my passion for health. That and my own struggles with emotional eating, food cravings and a family history of arthritis and diabetes has kept me on a constant search for what is best for our bodies. Teachers such as Louise Hayes, Dr. Gabriel Cousens and Bruce Lipton have been instrumental in showing me that our thoughts and the foods we eat, affect every cell in our body. You become what you eat and think about!
As I continue to advance my knowledge and beliefs about health and nutrition, the one common thread I hear over and over regardless of what dietary theory it is - is that we should incorporate more plant based foods into our diet. It’s a funny thing what we tolerate and come to accept as “normal”. Feeling tired and having stuffy nasal passages, brain fog and aching joints for way too long, I embarked on an elimination diet as I began to introduce more raw enzyme rich plant based foods into my diet. The results were immediate and eventually led me to obtain my certification as a Raw Food Chef and Instructor through the Living Light Culinary Arts Institute. Today I continue to make 75% of my diet "raw". They are the only Raw Food School that includes nutrition in the curriculum as well as offering a Raw Food Nutritionl Educator certification. I chose the Institute for Integrative Nutrition for my Health Coach certification because they view health and nutrition from a holistic approach, taking into account that when one aspect of our life is out of balance it affects the whole. They are also the only school presenting a wide array of dietary theories as well as honoring the concept of bio-individuality.
It is a great gift to step into the position of Raw Food Educator and Health Coach. Through my own life experiences and with the amazing knowledge and instruction I have received, I pass this along to you so that you may integrate healthy changes into your life at a pace that is appropriate & comfortable for you. Everyone deserves to live at their peak potential with optimal health!
